Spoilers ahead. Are we okay with that, kid?

Schoodic Point is a location on Maine's coast, where a Weave ferryperson is expected to pick up the crew and take them to Nova Scotia. It is located across the road from Owl's Head Campground.

History[]

On October 31, 2030, Theo, Girl, and Nainai arrive at Schoodic Point, with Noam joining them on non-Outsider Codas. However, the Puritans intercept and capture them, with the Overseer's ship lying in wait underwater. When Pax, Ziggy, Eli, and Ophelia arrive, the Overseer, Axiom, and two Brutoids exit the ship via a levitating platform and confront the crew. The Overseer demands the data key and states the the Puritans could kill the crew, but are willing to show mercy. When Theo points out that the Puritans are taking a child hostage, the Overseer retorts that the crew forced her to do so. She argues that both Justice and the Weave want to use language, while the Puritans want to restrict it for the greater good, and is disappointed that Theo refuses to side with the Puritans despite being in their employ for a decade. If Pax tries to use Vox on the Puritans, the Overseer gloats that she and her personal guard have a filter device that protects them from Vocals. If Pax tries to bargain, the Overseer talks about her filter technology regardless just to emphasize how outmatched the crew is. Pax can ask about the data key, which flabbergasts the Overseer because she always assumed the crew knew the contents. She explains that the data key contains a codex on Protolanguage and admonishes the crew for carrying something that important on an easily losable memory stick. She states that the data will be used for a tower that emits an anti-Protolanguage signal that can reach as far as Nova Scotia. She mentions that the Puritans has investors, with Herald acting as a point of contact between them, though she does not know much more about him than that. She reveals that the Puritans still have backups of the data, but they want to prevent any other faction from obtaining a copy. She once again denounces language and declares that technology and censorship are the only ways to protect the world.

Pax compares the Overseer's attempts to understand and control Protolanguage to her own, and states that she still cannot fully control her Vox even after thirty years. However, Pax comes to a realization that Vocals are not about the words being said, but about the empathy behind them. She states that by using her words as weapons and treating conversations as confrontations, she did not know how to listen to others, and therefore did not know how to communicate with them. Pax gives her support for everyone's current Coda path and declares her love for them, and in Theo's case, she states that he embodies all three of his roles as a friend, a father figure, and a leader. These words activate a Vocal that gives the crew positive feelings. The Overseer sarcastically compliments Pax's heartfelt speech and continues demanding the data key, only for Theo to activate his EMP device, stunning all the Acolytes and Brutoids. The Overseer panics and fires her gun, hitting Theo in the arm. She continues justifying herself before Ziggy disarms her and knocks her out.

Theo states that his injuries can be fixed by Nova Scotia's DOC devices and that Ziggy helped him fix and charge the EMP last night. Ziggy uses her tools to disable the Acolytes and Brutoids while they are still unconscious, and Pax and Theo approach the docks. Theo thanks Pax for giving him courage and talks about his Coda path. He asks Pax to take care of his sister, Beatrice, and help her find a cure in case anything happens to him. Theo spots Axiom hiding nearby, causing the latter to run to the docks. Pax realizes Axiom is the mysterious child from her dreams and tries to warn Theo, only for Axiom to mentally attack Pax. Theo tries to rush at Axiom despite Pax's warning, only for Axiom to disintegrate Theo, to the shock of the crew. Axiom declares his intent to take Pax's ultimate Vocal and assures her the process will be painless and peaceful. Girl places her hand on Pax's stomach and draws a multitude of Echoes into the latter. Axiom attempts to attack Pax, only for her to unleash a powerful Vocal that launches him into the sea. Pax does not understand what she did, though she does know that her unborn child is the one who activated the Vocal. The crew mourns Theo until a Weave boat arrives, with the ferryperson waiting patiently while the crew decides who goes and stays. Ziggy states that she is not boarding the boat, since she wants to stay in the American Republic to become a librarian, join a resistance, or establish her own commune. Pax declares her own choice in joining the Weave in Nova Scotia, becoming an armed rebel, or traveling to Europe. She states that this decision is the result of all prior decisions that she made during the road trip. Eli can choose to go to Nova Scotia to seek a cure for Ophelia, stay in the Republic to expose Justice's corruption, or travel the Republic's roads to search for his biological family, with Ophelia and Girl joining Eli regardless of his choice. Noam can return to Hong Kong to reconcile with their mother or join Pax to rekindle their relationship. Nainai is guaranteed to get on the boat, and the ferryperson sails off with any crew members who want to go to Nova Scotia.

Physical description[]

The grounds are covered with dirt and snow, and the entrance from the road is wide enough for a vehicle. The parking area contains wooden fences, two lampposts, a bulletin board, and a camper. There is another entrance on the road leading to a nearby lighthouse. The dock is made of stone and dirt, and has a single lamppost at the end.
