Dustborn Wiki

La Torre, also known as Silo 942, is a subterranean farming collective near Sacramento, Pacifica. It is a front for the Weave acting as a library in order to help refugees and circulate banned books. It is led by Luna, the first librarian to help the crew with the plan to transport the Puritan's datakey. Although this place is also used as a YuYu facility, it's unknown if the YuYu employees who work there know about the library operations.

Many of La Torre's sign include both English and Spanish translations. The meaning of La Torre is (watch) tower, which is apt, as La Torre descends deep underground.

History[]

Before the heist started, Luna prepared a tour bus in anticipation of the crew arriving to La Torre and programmed a black-market robot to be able to drive it. However, on October 13, 2030, Luna got trapped under the bus while working underneath it due to a malfunctioning jack, and the robot was barely able to lift the bus enough to prevent it from crushing her. When the crew arrives, Noam uses their Vocal to calm Luna, Sai uses her strength to help lift the bus, and Theo identifies a wireless connection issue as the cause of the jack's failure. Pax discovers that a YuYu drone knock a wireless antenna off, which she promptly reactivates. Luna is saved, but warns the crew that they have to patch Pax's shoulder, get their supplies, and leave quickly before the Puritans and Pacificops catch up to them.

When the crew goes into the basement, Pax visits the restroom in order to throw up, but has a vision of the Tree of Tongues and of a mysterious boy. After Pax finishes, she has an opportunity to explore the basement, listen to two YuYu workers argue about their company's political power, reflect on her situation near the railing, and chat with Noam. Meanwhile, Theo uses the Weave terminal to communicate with New Jerusalem's librarian in order to make sure the latter's library is still operational. Luna and Pax chat while a DOC device fixes the latter's shoulder, only for La Torre's alarms to go off. Luna heads to the ground floor to convince the Pacificops and Puritans to leave while Pax and Theo observe the situation from the office's computer. Sai has a nervous breakdown and refuses to leave the bathroom, leaving Pax with no choice but to use Vox to snap Sai out of her panic. Once the authorities leave, Luna and the crew move supplies into the elevator to bring to the bus.

On the ground floor, Luna and the crew load up the bus and the crew is introduced to the robot driver. Pax objects to letting a robot drive the bus due to the robophobia she was taught in Liberty, but if no dialogue option is chosen in time, Noam uses their Vocal to get Pax to calm down and accept that the robot is necessary due to the Republic's legal red tape. The crew takes a look at their musical equipment and say their farewells to Luna before leaving on the bus. However, while in Colorado on October 19, the crew learns that the librarian Sol lost contact with all other libraries, including La Torre, leaving Luna's fate ambiguous.
