After Ziggy loans the electromagnetic baseball bat, Pete, to Pax, the player gains access to the bat’s upgrade system, which allows them to spend machine parts to grant Pax various passive skills. Each node in a line requires the preceding nodes to be learned first. The final node of each line can be upgraded multiple times, but each upgrade requires more machine parts, with the successive costs being 11, 13, 16, 19, 23, and 28. The player can obtain at least 112 machine parts over the course of the game and can refund nodes to regain these parts.
